The Sheepfoot, or "Rescue" Blade, is notable due to its lack of a pointed tip. This lack of an acute tip diminishes the chance of poking or puncturing anything when cutting in emergency situations where adrenaline kicks in and motor skills and coordination diminish. The rounded blade of the Spyderco Rescue readily slides under clothing and bindings to make it the preferred blade shape of emergency technicians, rescue personnel and anyone working around livestock.

The Spyderco Trademark Round Hole was enlarged for smoother thumb rotation, which in turn creates a prominent hump to position the thumb on while cutting. The FRN waffle-textured handle is available in black with an ambidextrous, tip-up pocket clip.
