The difference between regular hand sockets and Stanley® Proto® sockets is in the points. All Proto® hand sockets feature the innovative TorquePlu™ radius-corner design. A TorquePlus™ socket features rounded points, which allow the socket walls to contact the fastener walls, keeping pressure off the points. This engineering change helps the socket find a longer, better grip on the flat of the fastener head. Chrome finish protects these tools from dirt, wear and light damage. Polished chrome is the industry standard - satin chrome is used in larger sizes to provide more grip and better handling, especially with gloved hands.
