United States Coast Pilot® - 53rd Edition 2021
Pacific Coast: California
Coast Pilot 7 covers the rugged and mountainous coast of California. The California coastline consists of high land rising abruptly from the sea and a variety of mountain terrain including chaparral and underbrush south of San Francisco Bay and timbered mountains to the north of the bay.
The United States Coast Pilot® supplements the navigational information shown on NOAA nautical charts. It is continually updated and maintained from inspections conducted by NOAA survey vessels and field parties, corrections published in Notices to Mariners, information from other Federal agencies, State and local governments, maritime and pilots' associations, port authorities, and concerned mariners.
The Coast Pilot® is produced under the authority of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), National Ocean Service (NOS). NOAA is the national hydrographic office for the United States of America. This Coast Pilot meets the requirements of the mandatory carriage of nautical charts and publications established by the U.S. Coast Guard in Titles 33 and 46, Code of Federal Regulations.
