Dyneema® SK-78 Core / 16-Plait Polyester Cover
Excel Racing is an excellent lightweight, all-purpose performance rope that can be used in a variety of dinghy and sportboat applications. It has a smooth and durable cover. This tightly woven polyester sheathing reduces wear and friction. It also has flexibility through the tight radii of dinghy deck gear, while also holding fast in cleats. Water absorption is minimal, limited to the cover.
Because the cores of sizes 5/32", 3/16" and 1/4" are braided, the covers can be stripped and tapered to save weight on halyards and sheets. These sizes can also be spliced when the cover is removed.
