"Pro Flow" Double Tuna Tubes
Transom Mount
In 1992, Kodiak Marine learned from state fisheries and the marine aquarium industry about the importance of using directional water flow over the entire water column of a fish tank. Such technology is present in every Kodiak "Pro Flow" tank made today. Simply put, most fish have to swim in order to allow oxygen rich water to flow over their gills to breathe. Fish swimming velocity is greatly reduced when held in the small confines of a bait tank. The Kodiak "Pro Flow" tank with directional flow compensates for this by directing a gentle flow of water in the tank that the fish can swim into and receive more oxygen.
Tuna Tubes are developed along these lines as a live fish holding tank, directing water over the tuna's gills. These white polyethylene tubes have a black interior that is proven to keep the tuna calm and alive even longer. Each tube is 8" ID x 26" long and will hold a tuna up to 20 pounds.
Tuna Tubes are supplied with quick-disconnect mounting brackets for transom mounting. The mounts use small transom mount nuts, and the tuna tube brackets clip to the nuts. The double tube set uses two sets of brackets mounted together and only requires 4 mounting nuts on transom. These mounts are anodized and white-powder coated for long life.
