Non-Adjustable Cooling Water Flow Detectors
Multi-Voltage - 12V, 24V, and 32V
Female NTP connections work with 1-1/2" or 2" hose.
These one-way flow detectors monitor marine engine raw water flow (cooling water) to prevent engine damage due to overheating. Each activates a visual or audibile device immediately whenever raw water flow is stopped or impeded. (Visual or audible device must be purchased separately.)
The Flow Detector alarms when the raw water flow rate falls below the minimum set for the detector switch to close. This is a two-wire, non-polarity switch that is normally closed and opens at a specified flow rate of raw water flow (not adjustable). It stays open until flow slows or ceases at which time it then activates any audible or visual boat alarm connected to the detector.
The Aqualarm Cooling Water Flow Detector is unique in the marine electronics industry, developed and patented specifically for marine engines. It activates an immediate alarm that can be wired to the detector upon loss of raw water flow to the engine. With today's polluted bays and harbors, it is quite easy to ingest debris or a plastic baggie, interrupting the flow of cool water to the engine. While heat exchanger cooled engines will run several minutes without raw water flow before overheating, during that time significant damage will be done to the engine, raw water pump and exhaust system.
